Have you ever heard the saying that ‘a carpenter is only as good as his tools?’
This quote perfectly exemplifies one of my biggest passions – tools.
Not those kind of tools.
I’m talking awesome tools that help your business gain an edge against your competitors and allow you to explode your website’s traffic and growth – SEO tools.
But with so many SEO tools available today, some of which cost an arm and a leg, it can be difficult choosing the right one for you.
So if you could only have ONE SEO tool in your arsenal, which would it be?
That might seem like a tough question to answer but we’ve got the perfect tool for you now. Ladies and gentlemen – let me introduce Mangools.
This is one of the most varied and useful SEO tools on the market today and I use for almost all of my websites. It includes an entire suite of applications and I use all of these together to optimize my sites and crush the competition.
Want to learn more about why Mangools is amazing? Below I outline what it does exactly and why I love it so much. By the end of this article, I think you’ll be ready to fall in love as well.
Why you Need Tools for SEO
SEO tools are one of the things I nerd out on the most – and for good reason… Discovering and properly using the right tools has helped me master SEO and generate massive amounts of traffic to all of my sites.
And when it comes to a website… traffic is everything.
But here’s the deal.
Technically speaking – SEO can be done tool-free.
Technically speaking – you do not need any SEO software.
But let me tell you…If you have just started your first website and getting traffic on Google is your main priority (and it should be) doing it without tools is basically impossible.
Because at the end of the day, SEO tools and software give you an insight into SEO that you never would have otherwise had, which then gives you an edge over your competitors.
And that insight is CRUCIAL.
Why you Need PAID Tools for SEO
Are there free SEO tools?
Hell yes! And plenty of them are awesome.
There are TONS of free SEO tools that can help you increase website growth, such as Moz bar, Keyword Keg, Ubersuggest, and many, many more.
But remember that at the end of the day, while these tools are awesome… they are free-awesome… not premium-awesome.
Ultimately – you get what you pay for.
And while these free tools are 100% mandatory in your arsenal… they are best utilized as complementary tools. Not primary tools.
If this were an ancient battlefield, the free tools would be our auxiliaries.
But the paid SEO tools? That’s the freaking cavalry.
Paid SEO tools give you access to data and insights that can only be described in one word – powerful.
Paid (or otherwise known as ‘premium’) SEO tools analyze several aspects of SEO – such as keyword research, on-page SEO, off-page SEO, and technical SEO – and give you an edge that beforehand you probably didn’t even know existed.
What is Mangools?
I don’t get this worked up over SEO tools very often, but Mangools is without a doubt one of the coolest SEO tools on the market for beginners.
This is for three distinct reasons.
- Mangools is affordable.
- Mangools is extremely easy to use.
- Mangools is a versatile and accurate tool.
These three reasons are why I think Mangools is the best SEO tool for anyone with a beginner to moderate understanding of SEO.
Let’s analyze these aspects one by one so you can assess whether Mangools is the right premium tool for you.
Reason #1 – Mangools is Affordable
Let’s go ahead and get the pricing out of the way.
Mangools costs anywhere from $29-$79 a month.
If you are here considering Mangools, I wouldn’t worry about the $79 option. I would recommend you using either the $29/m or $39/m option.
This pricing is truly a godsend for beginners. Super-premium SEO tools like Moz, SEMRush, and AHREFs all start at $99 a month – and that’s for their basic accounts with limited features!
Being able to have premium SEO tools at your fingertips for less than $30 a month is easily one of the biggest selling points of Mangools, and why we at DYD recommend it so highly.
Mangools gives you the opportunity to dip your toes into the world of SEO, with a fantastic product, and a really affordable price.
If you are intimidated by $30 a month then you need to reconsider what it is that you are trying to accomplish with your business.
If you want a small hobby blog that generates a bit of traffic, I can understand being hesitant to invest money.
But if you are trying to carve a life of freedom and generate a ton of money online, you have to look at your blog as a business.
And businesses require investments.
Just keep that in mind. Even if you don’t want this particular product, you need to be ready to invest money into something, or you’ll continually be watching your competitors steal all of your traffic and potential income.
Reason #2 – Mangools is extremely easy to use
Ease of use is crucial – especially if you are new to this kind of stuff.
And that’s one thing that Mangools nails.
The Mangools interface is simple and well designed.
To see just how great the interface is, just check out the screencasts below.
Reason #3 – Mangools is Versatile
So you can agree that $29 is a good price, but you might be asking yourself…
‘Wait… what do I get for my $29 a month?’
This is the best part.
When you buy a subscription to Mangools, you get access to not one by FIVE SEO tools. Those are…
KWFinder and SERPWatcher are particularly useful and we use them disproportionately more than the others.
Listen: a lot of SEO tools in this price range can be one-dimensional.
But not Mangools.
With a Mangools subscription, you get a ton of bang for your buck.

The Mangools Suite – What is included
Let’s take a closer look at the five SEO tools you get with your Mangools subscription.
- Great for beginner keyword research
- Accurate keyword-difficulty scores
- Great for keyword recommendations
- Some caching problems
KWFinder was the first tool of Mangools that I used.
I’m kind of a keyword research addict, so I’m always looking for new tools that can give me a competitive edge with this part of SEO.
And KWFiner does a really, really great job at this.
This tool will help you take your keyword research to the next level.
The thing that sets Mangool’s KWFinder apart from other KW research tools is that the sheer amount of data it gives you.
It provides not only standard metrics like volume, difficulty, and CPC, but also trend data and keyword variations/longtails. I find that Mangool’s KW difficulty metric – which uses its own algorithm – is also more accurate than other tools. Having accurate KW data is vital to doing effective research.
The one main gripe I have with KWFinder is that metrics are not always available to see immediately. For some of the more random keywords will need to be refreshed manually on the dashboard to see the data. This is annoying, especially when doing large-scale research as you have to refresh each individual keyword.
If you haven’t already considered using a VA or virtual assistant, refreshing these keywords would be a good task for them.
SEO Tool #2 – SERPChecker
- Helps you understand SERPs
- Accurate LPS-scores
- Great for keyword research
- Not my favorite interface for this kind of SEO tool
Another CRUCIAL aspect of keyword research is SERP analysis.
SERP = Search Engine Results Page, and analyzing the SERPs is crucial for SEO success.
And the Mangools SERPChecker can really help you in your SERP analysis.
All you need to do is type the keyword into the field, then indicate which country and device want to use in the analysis, and hit enter.
You should then be shown something like this:
Here you can look for all kinds of important data about the SERP i.e. your competition.
You can check:
- Domain authority
- Page authority
- Number of backlinks
- Referring domains
- Additional metrics from third-party tools, like Majestic and Alexa.
Analyze the SERPs, find out what the competition is doing, and then beat them at their own game!
SEO Tool #3 – SERPWatcher
- Best interface for SERP-recording software I’ve used
- Simple to use
- You can track over 200 keywords on the $29 a month option
- It counts as two keywords to track on mobile AND desktop
- Times’Dominance Index’ is dumb to me
Here’s the deal – you absolutely need some sort of SERP-watching software.
SERP-watching software allows you to enter your keywords into their program, then every day it will give you a SERP report where you can see how your blog posts have done in the past 24 hours.
The good news is there are tons of SERP-report software options out there. I am currently using a cheap product for a few of my sites called SERPRecorder for less than $15 a month.
But the better news? If you buy Mangools, you don’t need to buy SERP-report software – it’s all included baby!
This helps rationalize and negate the price of Mangools, plus not to mention the interface is far and away the best SERP-reporting software I’ve tried.
Check out the screencast to get a complete understanding of how this software helps your SEO organization.
SEO Tool #4 – LinkMiner
- Great way to see competitor link profiles
- Jump straight to anchor text (super awesome)
- Helps you strategize where to try and get links from
- A bit complicated of an interface (it just takes some getting used to)
Diving into the world of backlinks can seem scary and dark – so let LinkMiner be the light!
LinkMiner does a good job of making backlinks less intimidating. This will help you accomplish two very important things.
1. LinkMiner will help you see your competitor’s backlink profile
2. It will also help give you an idea of where to start outreaching for backlinks on your own site.
Start by analyzing the SERPs for the keywords you want to rank for and check to see who your competitors are. You can do this using a combination of the SERPChecker and KWFinder tools.
Then use LinkMiner to drill down further into the competition.
Plug in a competing page and see what kind of links they have. How many are there? Where are they coming from? Are the links reputable and useful? Ask yourself these questions and then formulate a link-building plan.
You can also use LinkMiner to check your own web pages’ backlink profiles. It will show which links are new, which have been lost, and if they’re set to nofollow or dofollow. All vital information!
SEO Tool #5 – SiteProfiler
- Super awesome way to get competitor insights
- Helps you evaluate websites (good for building backlinks!)
- Data is accurate
- Doesn’t give traffic for low to mid-sized websites
The newest addition to the Mangools family – I introduce you to SiteProfiler!
SiteProfiler is a powerful SEO tool that will enable you to do in-depth competitor research. This tool will allow you to see competitor’s SEO metrics, estimated traffic, their top content, and a bunch more.
This is a watered-down version of AHREF’s ‘Site Explorer’ but does a good job of giving accurate data and making it simple to use.
The Mangools Alternative?
I recommend different tools for different people in their SEO quest. For many, Mangools may not be enough to handle their needs.
Simply put, if you are a bit more advanced and have some money to spend – nothing beats AHREFs.
AHREFs is hands down my favorite software and acts as an all-in-one SEO tool. AHREF’s is the most sophisticated SEO software on the market, and will literally blow your mind with its capacity.
A lot of professional agencies use AHREFs to conduct all sorts of audits covering content, competitor link analysis, technical SEO, and more. AHREFs offers so much – it is (almost) literally a complete package and will undoubtedly take your SEO to the next level.
But all that power comes at a cost. As previously mentioned, AHREFs is a super-premium product, and a super-premium product comes at a super-premium price.
You gotta dish out a MINIMUM of $99 a month (and even then, I’d recommend starting out at the $179/m pricing to really get bang for your buck).
For most newbies and even the more moderate/advanced – this is simply too much money.
I know this because it used to be way too expensive for me. A few years ago I knew that I needed SEO tools to help explode my traffic – but there was NO WAY I could afford $179 a month.
Final Thoughts on Mangools
The verdict is pretty simple – if you are looking to dip your toes into the world of SEO, want to get ahead of your competitors but aren’t ready to invest a ton of money… Mangools is as good as it gets.
Mangools offers a diverse toolset that can you help in multiple aspects of SEO. For $29/month, you get a KW research tool, KW tracking tool, SERP auditing tool, link auditing tool, and a way to scope out the competition. That’s a pretty sweet deal and, for those just getting started with SEO, pretty hard to turn down.
